Introducing Spectacular Manchebo Beach
"The Friendly Little Hotel On The Largest Beach In Aruba"
Punta Brabo is the original name of the place where the Manchebo Beach Resort now resides. Legend goes that when the south coast of the island was still a vast space of beach, this was discovered by three indians. Their original names are unfortunately not known anymore, but it is said that they were "Man", "Che" and "Bo". It is this way that the name Manchebo was originated. In 1966, the then owner of the floating restaurant "Bali", Mr. Shmandt, came up with the idea to build a hotel at the Manchebo Beach.
He gathered a group of investors and gave the project to the only construction company on the island, "Bouwmaatschappij Aruba", owned by Mr. Folkert Loonstra. This was the initiation of Manchebo Beach Resort. At that time there were only two other hotels on the island. In 1971 the hotel was sold and was acquired by Mr. Ike Cohen and his wife Grete.
With 30 years of experience,
Mr. & Mrs. Cohen took the reigns of the Manchebo Beach Resort and made it into what it is today. A retreat dedicated to provide its guests with high level of quality service and accommodations. Needless to say - friendliness, fun and relaxation is what you will find here during your holiday.
With its 71 rooms located in two wings that enfold the main lobby and activities area and three restaurants, Manchebo is distinguished by its quaint intimacy and personalized service provided for every guest. Manchebo renders a vacation experience as uncommon as the island itself!

On September 23 2007 Mr Ike Cohen passed away. Mr Cohen was very much loved among the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa employees. His vision will always stay here among the employees. May Mr Ike Cohen rest in peace. |
