"El Prove" featured at Giorgio's - Ristorante Italiano

Eagle Beach, December 2010 - The maestro on the saxophone and clarinet Eduardo Proveyor better known as "El Prove" is performing under the stars at the popular Italian restaurant Giorgio's located at the intimate Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa. With a complete repertoire of jazz, romance, Cuban and favorites from the 50's and 60's "El Prove" has been a favorite artist in Aruba's restaurant and hotel scene for many years.

The Cuban born musician completed his musical studies at the Music Conservatory of Havana. He performed with Cuba's most popular singers, participated in international tours and festivals including the Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana with renowned artists like Chucho Valdez as well as numerous shows all over the world including France, Venezuela, Japan, Canada, Mexico and Colombia.

"El Prove" is performing during dinner time at Giorgio's - Ristorante Italiano on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 8pm until 11pm for a wonderful dinner experience with the recently newly introduced menu by Chef George Hoek. Giorgio's is also a great place for some delicious after dinner entertainment with home-made desserts and cocktails.

Italian cooking is filled with passion and love, where attention to the tiniest details elevates flavor to the level of the sublime. Award-winning George Hoek and his brigade create culinary magic every night at Giorgio's Ristorante Italiano, a charming open-air eatery at the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa, bringing their special touch to every beautifully presented and abundant plate.

Focaccia with the hint of rosemary dipped in extra virgin olive oil and a glass of of Pinot Grigio or Chianti set the stage for the magnificent meal to follow. Close your eyes and you'll think you're in Rome savoring homemade fettuccine dressed in a divine Alfredo sauce; spaghetti cooked al dente; pizzas that are thin and crispy, in margarita, pepperoni, cheese, vegetarian and Hawaiian varieties. Sauces burst with the rich flavor of Italian plum tomatoes and fresh basil. Garden vegetables are perfectly cooked and garnished with fresh parsley and herbs. The exquisite flavors of home-grown ingredients, Caribbean seafood, top-quality veal and beef and imported delicacies are enhanced by light and healthy sauces.

Seafood lovers may choose to begin with calamari fritti (tender and golden brown and served with a spicy marinara sauce); a misto di mare (seafood salad of shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels in a vinaigrette dressing), or cioppino (a sumptuous fish soup of clams, mussels, shrimp, crab and calamari finished with white wine). Others may enjoy a refreshing prosciutto and melon, bruschetta of artichoke, minestrone soup, or Caesar salad before the main act.

The tempting entrée repertoire includes many authentic Italian favorites. The grilled beef churrasco with red wine reduction and fileto di bue alla Giorgio (pan-seared filet with mushrooms and rosemary red wine sauce) are soft as butter. Veal dishes include vitello parmigiano (breaded pan-fried cutlet with marinara sauce and mozzarella); scaloppini di vitello ai fungi (sautéed veal in garlic, basil and mushroom with Marsala wine sauce); and vitello saltimbocca (served in wine lemon butter sauce with prosciutto, fresh sage and mushroom). Grilled spiedino (salmon, scallops, shrimp and grouper on a skewer); sautéed spigola (Chilean sea bass) with tomato, olives, fresh herbs and white wine; trance di salmone (grilled salmon filet with lemon caper butter sauce); and pesce del giorno (fresh fish of the day) are healthy choices.

For a perfect finale, tiramisu is a dreamy concoction of marscarpone, espresso, sponge cake, liquor, cocoa and heavy cream. The crispy fried cannoli are filled with sweetened ricotta cheese; the pannacotta is a creamy flan served with fruits. Key lime pie, apfelstrudel, and chocolate mousse are other delectable selections. Or an amaretto, sambuca, or frangelico, or a foamy cappuccino or strong espresso may just hit the spot.

At Giorgio's Ristorante Italiano, the service is impeccable; the ambiance is serene and romantic. The music of El Prove, Aruba's famed saxophonist, is the perfect accompaniment to very special dinner at one of the island's finest Italian restaurants.
