Aruba Hi-Winds Returns with a Bang

July 02, 2018

Usually, we'd say that we are biased. However, in this case, we think you’ll agree that Aruba is the best place in the world to wind and kite surf. Each year thousands of adventure-seekers head to our beautiful island to practice their skills, some even come to compete. Our favorable winds and water conditions make Aruba the perfect host for the annual Aruba Hi-Winds competition. It’s the sport’s longest-running amateur event and has been gaining world-attention for a whopping 31 years. It draws enthusiasts from across the globe, while the chill island-vibe keeps patrons coming back.  The event takes place July 3 - 9th at Fisherman’s Huts and features slalom, long-distance and freestyle windsurfing, as well as kiteboarding competitions taking place at Boca Grandi on the southeast coast. This year check out the newest additions, the Hi-Winds mountain bike race, fashion shows, concerts, and all-night beach parties.
