Nuturing Paradise:

Our Sustainable Journey at Manchebo

At Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa, we believe that paradise is a gift to be cherished and protected. Nestled on the pristine shores of Eagle Beach, we are surrounded daily by the natural beauty that inspires our guests and Manchebo team alike. This is why sustainability is not just a program for us, it’s a promise.

Green Globe Platinum Certified

We are proud to be one of the few resorts in the Caribbean to achieve Green Globe Platinum Certification, a recognition of our continuous commitment to sustainable operations. From energy savings to community involvement, every detail of resort life is guided by the idea of leaving a lighter footprint on our island home.

Harnessing the Power of the Sun

Aruba’s abundant sunshine fuels not only happy beach days, but also our resort. With solar panels integrated into our operations, we reduce reliance on fossil fuels and move closer to a cleaner, renewable future.

Conserving Our Most Precious Resource

On a sunny island like Aruba, water is life. That’s why we recycle grey water to nourish our tropical gardens and maintain lush, green spaces without waste.Behind the scenes, linen and towel reuse programs further contribute to conservation.

Reducing Plastic, One Step at a Time

Single-use plastic has no place on our beach. Through our Join the Pipe partnership, every guest receives a reusable, sugarcane-based water bottle. Hydration stations throughout the resort make it easy to refill while reducing plastic waste. The same goes for our eco-friendly sunblock stations, allowing guests to protect their skin and the reef at the same time.

Closing the Loop: Glass and Food Waste

At Manchebo, sustainability means finding new life for what might otherwise be discarded. All glass bottles are collected and run through our in-house glass crusher, turning them into a fine sand-like material. A local painter reuses this crushed glass in his work, transforming waste into art.

We also save and sort all food waste, which is donated to a local pig farm. This effort is one of the reasons why we do not offer buffets, where large amounts of food often end up discarded. By choosing à la carte dining, we not only provide fresher meals but also help reduce waste at its source.

A Taste of Sustainability

Our culinary team embraces a farm-to-table philosophy, sourcing fresh ingredients locally, Herbs from our own Herb house and offering a full vegan menu at Ike’s Bistro to reduce the carbon footprint of dining. Every colorful plate is both a celebration of flavor and a mindful step towards sustainability.

Caring for Community and Culture

Sustainability at Manchebo extends beyond the beach. We support local schools, cultural projects, and island-wide cleanups, believing that thriving communities are an essential part of regenerative tourism. By choosing Manchebo, our guests directly contribute to a brighter future for Aruba’s next generations.

A Journey We Share With You

Every small change makes a difference. When our guests refill their water bottles, join in a beach cleanup, or choose plant-based meals, they become part of this shared journey. Together, we are shaping a more responsible, more conscious, and more beautiful world, one beach day at a time.
